Mathematics Placement @ USC

 

The MPT is an online test that students should take before registering for classes.

All entering USC students are required to take the Mathematics Placement Test (MPT), regardless of previous credit or AP/IB scores. Students with no MPT code on file or who do not meet the prerequisites for a 100-level Math course will be dropped from the course (before the start of the semester).

Note: Before you can begin your MPT you will be asked to enter your USC Network Username and Password. (To find them, go to my.sc.edu. Then, click the "Set your USC Network Username/Email Password". You will use your VIP ID to log on. This page will show your USC Network Username and allow you to change your password.)

It takes two to three business days for your Mathematics Placement Test score to be loaded into the student records maintained by the Registrar Office!
